Tips on white spacer

I took the spacer out of my wife's bike today. It was pretty simple if you take your time and are careful. Here are some tips that are not mentioned in the others, probably because most people expect you to know these things already.

Dowload and print the diagram that Rob put on the Forum beofre starting. It is helpful.

The four screws in the float bowl are all the same, but keep track of them and put them back in the same place. NEVER ake chances putting the screws back in a machine in different spots.

You will have to move the throttle cable out of the way a bit to get to the carb. Just take up some slack and slide it out of the way. You don't have to disconnect it.

The carb bowl will turn when you try to remove the second screw. Don't wory, you can turn it back to where the black diaphram fits back into it's notch before reassembly.

Use a bigger screwdriver than it looks like you need for the brass screws on the plate in the carb. They are brass and VERY soft, don't take a chance on stripping them.

NOTE the exact position of the plate and screws before removal. The plate is not the same if you put it in backwards!

You will have to use a pair of needlenose pliers or a good magnet to pull the screws and plate out, so don't count on them being in the same position when you get them out. Look close before removing them.

A good magnetic screwdriver will help put the screws back in place. Don't overtighten them, when they are snug, they are tight enough.
